ToolsForLocals helps owners of small, local businesses (roofers, contractors, gyms, Airbnb hosts) figure out which AI tools are actually worth paying for.

We started in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, surrounded by trades and service businesses that live and die by the phone. Most AI tool reviews are written for tech companies. Ours are written for the person on a ladder at 2pm who just missed a $15,000 call.

Who's behind it

ToolsForLocals is run by Daniel Swarey, who has hands-on Jobber and roofing experience, Airbnb experience, and has set up RingCentral phone systems. He loves technology and setting up automated stuff behind a screen. Guides explain what each tool does and why it matters; when you'd rather have it done for you, you can work with Daniel.

How we review

• We pull prices and features from each vendor's own pricing page and link it.
• We say when something is unverified or likely to change.
• We date every article and update it when prices move.
